"How Much Do I Need?"
¾" Minus Stone is a graded aggregate material comprising crushed stone particles ranging in size from ¾ inches down to fine particles. Combining different particle sizes allows for better compaction, making it suitable for various applications such as driveways, walkways, and a base layer for pavers and other construction projects.

To determine how much ¾" Minus Stone you need for a project, follow these steps:

1. Measure the area you want to cover in square feet. To do this, multiply the length (in feet) by the width (in feet). For example, if you have a 10-foot by 20-foot area, the square footage would be 200 square feet (10 ft x 20 ft = 200 sq ft).

2. Determine the desired depth of the ¾" Minus Stone layer. This may vary depending on the specific application. Still, a depth of 2 to 4 inches is typically recommended for driveways and walkways. A depth of 4 to 6 inches is recommended for base layers under pavers or other construction projects.

3. Convert the desired depth to feet. For example, if you want a 4-inch layer, divide 4 by 12 (since there are 12 inches in a foot) to get 0.33 feet.

4. Multiply the square footage of the area (calculated in Step 1) by the desired depth in feet (calculated in Step 3) to obtain the volume in cubic feet. For example, if you have 200 square feet of area and want a 4-inch layer, you would need 66.67 cubic feet of ¾" Minus Stone (200 sq ft x 0.33 ft = 66.67 cu ft).

5. To convert cubic feet to tons, you will need to know the specific weight of the stone, which the supplier typically provides. The weight can vary depending on the source material and processing methods. Still, a standard weight for crushed stone is around 1.4 tons per cubic yard (or about 0.052 tons per cubic foot).

6. Multiply the volume in cubic feet (calculated in Step 4) by the weight per cubic foot (from Step 5) to determine the total weight in tons. For example, if you need 66.67 cubic feet of ¾" Minus Stone with a weight of 0.052 tons per cubic foot, you would need 3.47 tons (66.67 cu ft x 0.052 tons/cu ft = 3.47 tons).

With this information, you can calculate the amount of ¾" Minus Stone needed for any project regarding square footage, depth, and weight.
